In Northern BC I was Lucky enough to watch a sow take care of her 3 cubs of the year. She caught them salmon, taught them to eat sedge grass and nursed all three. On this day after she finished nursing she went onto the beach dug a hole in the sand laid down and fell asleep. Her cubs snuggled in next to her while one little cub kept his eyes on us. Every once in awhile she would life her head take a sniff to make sure everything was safe them plop her head down to take another nap.
